I earned my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Inorganic Chemistry and Chemistry of Inorganic Materials from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. George Psomas, I synthesized and characterized transition metal complexes with NSAIDs and quinolones as ligands. In 2018 and 2019, I was a research intern at Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) under Prof. Luca Salassa, where I contributed to the development of platinum- novel prodrugs for photochemotherapy.

In March 2020, I joined the Reithofer Group to pursue my Ph.D., focusing on the development of stimuli-responsive peptide-based metallo-hydrogels with potential antimicrobial properties, as well as biologically active Au(I) carbene compounds.

Ligand Stabilized Gold Nanomaterials for Biological and Catalytic Applications

I completed my undergrad studies at Freie Universität Berlin (B.Sc.) and the University of Vienna (MSc) with a focus on NHC chemistry towards coordination and nano chemistry. Currently, I am starting my PhD as a shared project between the University of Vienna and A*Star Singapore to on the bio-sensing applications of ligand stabilized gold nanomaterials.

NHC Stabilized Nanoparticles and Applications

I completed my undergraduate studies (B.Sc.) in Material Chemistry in Changchun University of Science and Technology. Then I moved to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where I got my MSc degree in the field of Chemical and Bio-molecular Engineering. I joined Reithofer's group on January 2022, and I will focus on the NHC-stablized nanoparticles' synthesis and future applications.

Hello, my name is Wenyi and come from Nanjing, China.
In 2019, I completed my B.Sc. degree in Chemistry at the University of Freiburg, Germany. Then, I moved to Munich, where I finished my master’s study in Chemistry at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). During my master's, I attended a Swiss-European Mobility Program and completed my master’s thesis at ETH Zurich.
In July 2022, I joined the Chin group as a PhD student. My research work will be cooperated with A*STAR in Singapore and focus on the synthesis of MOF materials for biomedical applications.

NHC-Modified Metal Nanocatalysts

I completed both B.Sc. and MSc at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, where I focused my research on drug discovery and drug delivery. In 2022, I joined the Reithofer’s group at the University of Vienna. My PhD study will be about NHC-modified metal nanocatalyst for electrochemical CO2 reduction application.

NHC-stabilized metal nanoparticle for catalysis and sensing

Hi, I’m Robert. My chemistry journey began with my Bachelors at RWTH Aachen, where I graduated in 2019. After a year of internships, I moved to the University of Vienna to resume with my Masters during the Covid pandemic. It was there that I discovered my passion for NHC-functionalized nanoparticles and wrote my thesis with the Reithofer group on CO2RR using NHC-AuCu nanoparticles. I am now continuing my academic journey with a PhD, focusing on different NHC-stabilized metal nanoparticles for applications in catalysis and sensing.

I completed my Bachelor's studies at RWTH Aachen University in the year 2021. After completing an internship at Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), I decided to move to Vienna to pursue my Master's studies. It was during my time here that I developed a keen interest in inorganic chemistry, which led me to join the Reithofer group. Throughout my Master's studies, I will be focusing on the synthesis and characterization of Nickel and Iron MOFs.
