Short Bio
Michael Reithofer was born and grew up in Vienna, Austria. He attended his B.Sc. studies at the University of Vienna. After this, he stayed on at the same university to complete his PhD (2006) under the supervision of Professor Dr. Dr. Bernhard K. Keppler.

United States of Amerika and specifically Massachusetts Institute of Technology was the next stop, where he was a postdoctoral fellow (2008) under the supervision of Nobel Prize Laureate Professor Richard R. Schrock.

In 2010, he moved in Singapore to work as a research scientist at Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology at A-STAR. After 4 years in Singapore, he was offered a lecturer job at Hull University, where he moved in 2014. There, he assembled his first scientific team.

In 2017, he got an assistant professor position at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of University Vienna, and during the next year he became an associate professor. So, he started to assemble there a new scientific group at his brand-new laboratory.
